The Social Welfare and Pensions Act 2008 introduced the requirement for trustees of occupational pension schemes to undergo training. This requirement applies to all pension scheme trustees regardless of size so one man arrangements are not exempt. It is the responsibility of the employer to arrange for the trustees of their company pension schemes to be trained. If the company is the trustee then all company directors must do the training.
