Every Child Ready to Read® (ECRR) is a parent and care provider education initiative. It stresses early literacy begins with the primary adults in a child's life. The ECRR toolkit empowers public libraries to assume an essential role in supporting early literacy within a community. Join your Minnesota library colleagues to learn how to incorporate the five early literacy practices of ECRR2 into your outreach to primary care providers of children ages birth to six. Participants will:

• Learn about the five early literacy practices of ECRR2 (sing, read, talk, write and play) and their positive impact on young children’s pre-literacy skills

• Identify easy ways anyone can incorporate early literacy practices into everyday life

• Discover tools for sharing early literacy practices in a home, library, or daycare setting

• Participants will receive certification to offer a two-hour MNCPD approved ECRR2 workshops for care providers through the Develop Tool

• Participants will receive a PowerPoint presentation template to present the approved two-hour ECRR2 workshop to care providers and parents

Registration is open until September 22 (or when workshop capacity of 40 is reached).
