1. Consider how you participate in conferences

These online interviews are for the purpose of collecting qualitative data regarding conference attendance from members of the Library and Information Science (LIS) profession. The goal is to develop some guidelines that will assist future conference attendees to make the most of their conference attendance, and to inform the creation of guidelines for participants in the conference mentoring pilot project being run at the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) Information Online Conference & Exhibition 2011. When answering these questions, please provide as much information as possible, and consider both the professional and personal dimensions of your life, and provide information regarding your individual circumstances if appropriate. Please consider the whole-of-conference experience including application, planning, preparation, travel, accommodation, attendance at functions, satellite events, etc.
