As obesity becomes a growing public health concern, an increasing amount of funding is being allocated to research on the causes and treatments of obesity. The Childhood Weight Control Program, a research facility in the Department of Pediatrics at the University at Buffalo, is funded by the National Institutes of Health to study the causes and treatments of childhood obesity. The University at Buffalo Childhood Weight Control Program has been a successful weight loss program for children and their parents for more than 30 years.

The Buffalo Childhood Weight Control Program at the University at Buffalo, are now actively recruiting families to participate in a FREE family based weight control program. Our program is for one overweight child (above the 95th BMI percentile) between 8-12 years and one parent willing to participate.
