The Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (CHPDP) is offering a free one day bullying prevention workshop for school and agency based mental health professionals and school resource officers (SROs) on Wednesday October 22 at the Edgewood Country Club in Churchill, PA from 9am-3pm.

Attendees will gain valuable knowledge and practical training on how identify children who have been bullied and what specific support they can provide to those children and their families. This training will also emphasize the important role that mental health workers and SROs play in creating a safe school environment for all students and what steps they can take on their own or in partnership with the school’s bullying prevention efforts, to reduce bullying. Breakout sessions will also include Creating Safe School Environments for LGBTQ Students, Cyber Safety, effective On the Spot Interventions and more!

After the workshops, the CHPDP will provide 6 free hours of technical assistance and follow up support to participants to help ensure that they are able to apply and implement the lessons learned in their school buildings.
