Quality afterschool science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs provide excellent opportunities to get students engaged with hands-on, inquiry-based learning science and technology activities. Evaluations of afterschool programs have shown students who participate in STEM-focused afterschool programs are more interested in STEM, have a higher degree of STEM-based knowledge and skills, and often pursue STEM careers at a higher rate.
