This webinar will introduce the new cataloging standard, Resource Description and Access (RDA). Sara Layne, former Principal Cataloger at UCLA, will describe the theoretical underpinnings of RDA, identify the major differences between this standard and its predecessor (AACR2), and will walk through some examples of RDA as it is currently applied in MARC bibliographic and authority records. This presentation is designed for practicing librarians who want a basic introduction to RDA and its application in our current environment.
