Have you ever Googled yourself or a friend? Did you find any new information that you didn't realize was public. More than ever before we are putting all of our life details online. Privacy no longer has a singular definition and your needs might be different than your neighbors. In order to participate fully and safely in the digital world we all need to be privacy literate. It's important to understand how the Internet works and how companies use our data.

I will be presenting at Next Library in Denmark this September, guiding librarians in a discussion about privacy literacy. To jumpstart the workshop, participants will partner up and give each other two pieces of personal information. They will each have a few minutes to scour the Internet finding as much information as possible about their partner and then tell them about themselves. This will be an eye-opening journey and a starting point for the conversation about privacy literacy.

Your help is needed in creating a rich search guide for the workshop participants and starting the discussion about how to bring privacy education into the library.

Thank you!
