Consent and Participant Guidlelines
Invitation
You are invited to participate in research being conducted by the Bushfire and Natural Hazards Cooperative Research Centre for the Department of Fire and Emergency Services in Western Australia.
The survey is only for members of communities affected by fire in the Parkerville, Stoneville and Mount Helena areas on 12 January 2014. If you live in these areas and are over 18 years you are invited to participate in this online survey to describe your bushfire preparation and other experiences of the fire.
Your account and the information you provide will help with improving bushfire safety, and to reduce the impact of future bushfires on your community and others around the country. We would greatly value your participation.
It will take you about 25 minutes to complete, with most questions optional.
If you experience any distress when recalling your bushfire experience you may simply end the survey. Consider also calling Lifeline 24-hour counselling (131114), or accessing Australian Psychological Society disaster help resources http://www.psychology.org.au/publications/tip_sheets/trauma/.
