Nomination Requirements (Self-Nominations Accepted):

The Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce will award its annual Minority Business of the Year (MBY) award in recognition of the achievements of local, minority-owned businesses and the contributions they make to Greenville.

The 2013 Minority Business of the Year Award will be presented at the Greenville Chamber’s Annual Meeting on February 13, 2014. Please follow instructions below and submit your nomination by the deadline of January 17, 2014.

Nominees must:
• Be a Minority Business as defined by the U.S. Department of Commerce: The company must be minority
owned with at least 51% owned by one or more minority individuals (Black Americans, Hispanic Americans,
Native Americans, Asian Americans, or Hasidic Jews), and the daily business operations must be managed by the minority owner;
• Be a member in good standing of the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce at the time of nomination or willing to become a member by the nomination deadline.
• Have been in business in the Greenville area for at least one year
• Be in satisfactory financial condition;
• Be a "for-profit" entity; and,
• Be locally owned and managed within the Upstate South Carolina region.

Applications will be reviewed and selection will be made based on the overall success of the business and evidence of contributions made by the business to the community. All 2013 MBY nominees will be considered for Small Business of the Month recognition in 2014. Past MBY nominees may be nominated again for MBY. A company cannot win MBY more than once.
