Our core team in Westport spent 8 months receiving
feedback from the town on what and how weather has
impacted residents' lives. We took this feedback and
created ideas of four projects based on that information.
The Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) 2.0
program in Massachusetts helps communities build
resilience to increasingly severe weather for all
community members -- in particular, the elderly,
those with low incomes, persons with disabilities,
and so on.. It builds on the original MVP 1.0 process by
filling gaps and providing new training, tools, and
resources to involve a broader range of community
members. The program is structured into three phases
over two years, allowing cities and towns to develop and
implement projects while continuing to apply for Action
Grants.
