* 2. Do you think we should have food and green waste collection services statewide?
Over 60% of the waste we bury in landfill in Tasmania is compostable (food, paper, etc).

* 3. Have you heard about Carrotmob Hobart, a campaign to encourage retailers to switch from plastic to compostable takeaway packaging?
The campaign was funded by the City of Hobart. Our first switchers were Macquarie Grocer and Chennai Bismi Kitchen.  Find out about Carrotmob.

* 4. Did you realise that all disposable coffee cups, knives, forks, straws, plates and lids used in Tasmania go to landfill? 
Very little takeaway packaging is collected for recycling in Tasmania. Anything small or food contaminated is hard to separate and transport for recycling. Find out more here.

* 5. Do you feel comfortable taking your own Keep Cup, Tupperware container or cutlery when buying takeaways?
It's okay and legal to BYO, as long as you take care and ensure that your containers are clean. Get some great BYO ideas here.

* 7. Do you support the introduction of a 10c refund on beverage containers?
Government investigations show that the cost of such a scheme would be almost entirely funded by beverage manufacturers and would lead to much better recycling outcomes. Find out more

* 8. Do you support the introduction of a $100 per tonne waste levy?
A waste levy motivates everyone to do their best to reduce the amount they send to landfill (to avoid the levy). Consequently recycling, reuse and composting businesses thrive. The higher the levy, the more recycling. Find out more.

* 9. Should there be a price on items that are difficult to recycle, to discourage people from using them?
For example, plastic bag recycling costs around $4572 per tonne and very few people do it, whereas kerbside recycling costs $140 per tonne. Find out more

* 10. Do you think that all Government schools, offices and shops (Service Tas, etc.) should recycle all their paper, flexible plastics, light globes, batteries and food waste?
We figure that someone needs to lead by example, for our kids and the general public and for the environment.
