2021 Non-Housing Community Needs Assessment Survey

The Washtenaw Urban County develops annual Action Plans to highlight planned activities. These activities use Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds* to address housing and community development needs, particularly in lower-income areas.

The next plan will cover July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022. Services and projects to achieve this goal will include:

a) affordable housing (homeowner and rental);
b) community infrastructure and facility improvements to parks, community centers, sidewalks, etc.;
c) human services provided by local non-profits;
d) support for low- and moderate-income homeowners to maintain their homes; and
e) services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
This survey is your chance to help elected official and county staff understand non-housing** needs in your community. We will use your input to inform next year's annual action plan.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this survey.

*CDBG, HOME, and ESG are grant programs of the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD).
**We conducted a larger housing-specific community engagement process in 2017. Click here for a summary of results of that process which engaged over 800 county residents.
