A survey of your views on and responses to hurricanes

Dear Venice Resident:

You are invited to participate in this survey of how senior adults perceive and respond to risks from hurricanes.  The purpose of the survey is to gather input from local senior residents to influence the county's policy and practice for communicating, preparing for and responding to hurricanes.

The survey should take less than 15 minutes to complete.  If you need to take a break before completing the survey, you will be able to save your progress and finish the survey at a later time as long as you access the survey using the same web browser from the same device.  Note that responses are only saved and submitted when you click the Next button on each page of the survey.

Your answers are completely confidential.  Your answers to this survey will be transmitted and stored securely.  You may skip any question you do not want to answer. No personally identifiable information will be shared in potential publications or presentations resulting from this research.

Your participation in this survey is voluntary.  You may stop participation at any time.  There is no compensation for this survey but the results of this research will benefit the residents of Venice and other places that have hurricanes.  It is hoped that this research will improve policies and planning for hurricane emergencies that accommodate the growing and diverse needs of senior adults in coastal communities.
