Learning Objectives:
At the end of this presentation, the participant will be able to:
1 - Describe outcome measures in cancer cachexia clinical trials.
2 - Describe different methods to assess body composition and physical function in patients with cancer cachexia.
3 - Recognize the relationship between muscle mass and function in these patients and the implications for clinical trials and clinical practice.
4 - Review the recently published American Society of Clinical Oncology cancer cachexia guidelines and implications for clinical care.
5 - Discuss data regarding the use of olanzapine in the treatment of cancer cachexia.
