Tornado Assistance Program Phase 1A Summary:
This application is intended for unincorporated Coweta County property owners and City of Newnan property owners who were impacted by the March 2021 tornado. The purpose is to remove standing damaged trees within 125-feet of a residential dwelling. Only properties in the impacted area are eligible for consideration. Up to $10,000 will be allocated per parcel based on the site assessment. 

If a property owner participated in Phase 1 of the Tornado Assistance Program, they may only participate in Phase 1A if they own other property. The same properties are not eligible for Phase 1A. 

Only property owners are only eligible to apply. If you are a tenant/renter, please contact the property owner to complete the application.

If funding is available following completion of Phase 1A, Phase 2 will focus on debris, root ball and stump removal. A separate application will be made available at that point. Note: please do not complete this application if you are seeking debris, root ball, or stump removal assistance.
Phase 1 A Process & Timeline:
Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, June 16. County/City staff will review the application, perform onsite assessments, and then notify the applicant if application is eligible.

Following the site assessments, County/City staff will group eligible properties into zones and assign to qualified tree contractors. County/City staff or assigned contractor(s) will notify the property owner and schedule the tree removal. 

Please note that if approved trees are switched to other ineligible trees by the property owner or tenant/renter following the site assessment, the application will be disqualified.

It is anticipated that all eligible trees will be removed by end of summer 2023. This timeline may be adjusted due to various factors.
