The Institute of Professional Editors' (IPEd) would appreciate your feedback on the Style manual for authors, editors and proofreaders to inform our advice to the Australian government on the new edition, which is now in development.

As everyday users of the Style manual, editors know the importance of having a definitive and up-to-date style guide. To that end, your suggestions will help the government identify the areas of the Style manual that remain useful in our work or that need updating to reflect contemporary style or thinking in editing.

This survey asks about your use of the Style manual and your feedback, if any, on specific issues and ambiguities with the current edition.

The IPEd Style Manual Steering Group will de-identify and consolidate the feedback for the Digital Transformation Agency, the department responsible for developing the revised edition. As part of this process, a member of the group may contact you by email for further information or clarification.

The survey should take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The deadline for completion is 30 June 2018.

Thank you for your contribution to what we hope will become the standard reference work on best practice in writing, editing, design and production in Australia.
