In May of 2017, Sonoma County Ag + Open Space released the final Vegetation and Land Cover Map Products created as part of the Sonoma County Vegetation Mapping and Lidar Program (see Together with the 2013-released Lidar Products and Derivatives, Lidar Derived Hydrologic Data Products, and Image Products, these datasets provide a rich foundation for planning, management, and emergency response in Sonoma County.

Both NASA, a major funder of the program, and Sonoma County Ag + Open Space are interested in understanding the use and value of these data sets to the myriad of users.  We would like to learn how your organization is using the data in general, and specifically if the data have been useful to your organization’s responses to the 2017 Sonoma Complex Fires. This survey is a follow-on to a survey sent out in 2016 regarding the Lidar and Imagery products (click here for the 2016 survey and its results).

The goals of this current survey are to
·       Update the 2016 survey for changes in use of the Lidar and Imagery Products,
·       Expand the survey to include new Vegetation Mapping and Land Cover Map Products,
·       Understand the use of all of the products in fire response, post-fire recovery and resilience planning.

Please take a few minutes to complete this brief survey which will aid Sonoma County and NASA in understanding and demonstrating the value of the Vegetation and Lidar Program Products. We will be collecting  responses until Feb. 15, 2019.
