Here is an explanation of the position's responsibilities and requisite skills/experience:

Each year SIGCHI recognizes an individual who has had a profound and sustained impact in improving society and people’s lives through understanding, shaping, designing and developing technology, systems and policy. The role of the Social Impact Awards Chair is to provide leadership for the Social Impact Awards committee through assigning nominations to the committee for review, facilitating the committee meetings and decision process, and contacting awardees. The position will start in 2020 and the term will be three years. It is a fairly low time commitment and most of the time commitment will occur between November and February.

Required skills:
• A well-established record in the SIGCHI community
• Demonstrated integrity and leadership
• Good organizational and team management skills.
• (Preferred) Contributions in research or practice to the wellbeing of society and people
