Program Overview:
The Sarah Lawrence College Peer Health Educator Program is a volunteer opportunity provided by SLC’s Health & Wellness Center. It uses the NASPA CPE training program, which is a comprehensive, 8-hour training curriculum. The program is designed to empower students with the core training to educate, intervene, listen to, and help their peers make healthy lifestyle choices. The training will provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to plan programming and educational events on campus, as well as to educate members of the campus community on options to improve their health. After successfully completing the training, students will be lifetime Certified Peer Educators (CPE). Once training is complete and students have taken and passed a short CPE certification exam, they will be able to officially participate in creating and facilitating programming on campus working with the Health & Wellness Center.
