Welcome to My Survey

I am the Lead Prairie Ecologist for The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. I am conducting research on behalf of TNC to synthesize the state of the science and policy regarding seed sources for grassland reconstructions and restorations. The goal of this survey is to understand the range of variability in existing policies and procedures surrounding the use of ‘locally’ sourced seed in grassland reconstructions and restorations anywhere across the U.S. and Canada.

The survey is designed for all grassland reconstruction/restoration practitioners at all levels of management and implementation (e.g., policy makers/influences and on-the-ground practitioners). Any person and/or agency involved in grassland reconstruction/restoration in some capacity is invited to participate.

The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Individual responses will be kept private and anonymous, and all reported information will be aggregated and reported either by State/Province or by type of Organization/Entity. Results will be summarized in a report, and may be submitted for peer-review publication.

Your participation in this survey is voluntary and you may withdraw at any time by simply closing your web browser. The potential benefits of participation include having your responses, in summary form together with those of other participants, communicated to the larger grassland reconstruction/restoration practitioner community. There is minimal risk of your individual responses being revealed due to measures we are taking to secure your information. I (Dr. Marissa Ahlering) am the lead investigator on this project and you may reach me at mahlering@tnc.org. Alternatively, you can call my office at 218-512-0476 if you have any questions or concerns.
