SASP Peer Success Coach Program Application 2018 Duties, Qualifications, and Requirements **We recommend that you print this page for your records**Job DescriptionPrimary Duties: Provides support to freshmen, sophomores, and transfer students in the following SASP Programs: Adelante!, APPLE Corps, CSIS, Early Start, First Year and Transfer Seminars, and other Academic Journey initiatives Provides support to students and faculty in select courses through weekly class visits and various communication methods Conducts individual and group peer success coaching sessions during which students work through plans to achieve their identified goals Helps students navigate the college environment and its resources, and assists them as they transition to college life Makes appropriate referrals to other departments and resources, as necessary. Provides support to prospective/ incoming John Jay students Represents John Jay College and Student Academic Success Programs at all times. Serves as a positive role model for new and continuing students Performs related duties as assigned Additional Duties: Facilitates study sessions and success workshops Promotes SASP and college services on social media Assists with development of materials for the SASP website and related publications Minimum qualifications and requirements: Be a full-time undergraduate John Jay student Maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA Earned between 15 and 90 credits Be legally authorized to work in the United States Work at least 10 hours per week between 8:00am-5:30pm during the semester Meet with assigned caseload of 50 students one-on-one at least once per semester Attend all trainings and staff meetings Enroll in the Peer Success Coach Training Courses in Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 (course information coming soon) Characteristics of an Ideal Candidate: Genuine desire to help students Enthusiasm for promoting events and creating buy-in for programs and initiatives Familiarity with John Jay services and resources Desire to work with and contribute to the success of a large team Compensation:Starts at $13.50 per hour for a minimum of 10 hours per week (outside of course work) Next
