The Recycling Partnership, in association with Resource Recycling, Inc., is pleased to announce the fourth annual Steve Thompson Memorial Grant, offering free travel, accommodation and registration for the 2019 Resource Recycling Conference.

Recycling industry leader Steve Thompson was a committed recycling champion who worked hard to move the industry forward and, for the fourth year in a row, The Recycling Partnership and Resource Recycling, Inc. are honoring him and his life’s work by offering grants to recycling professionals to travel to and attend the 2019 Resource Recycling Conference for free.
The Recycling Partnership will provide grants to recycling professionals from state, regional and local programs from across the U.S. Participants will learn and share program best practices, tips and research to improve recycling programs, and how to deliver more and better recycling to all citizens.

The grant includes conference registration, two-night host hotel stay, and a travel reimbursement of up to $500.

Deadline: Monday, April 1, 2019

The two-night hotel stay will be at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel for the nights of Aug. 26 and 27. The registration does not include any pre-conference workshops that require a separate fee. Requirement: Utilize Municipal Measurement Program (MMP)
In order to have a better understanding of your recycling program, The Recycling Partnership requires municipal conference grantees to utilize the Municipal Measurement Program (MMP), a free program assessment and planning tool that delivers insights and actionable recommendations to municipal waste management agencies. Municipal applicants must establish a MMP account for their RRC application to be received and considered complete (a "yes" answer to Question 13 is required). The final awarding of municipal scholarships will require the actual submittal of one year of program data in the MMP Assessment forms.
