Theme: “STEMSTEAM or STREAM, Adapting to the Virtual Environment"

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, STEM Conference 2020 planned for Thursday, September 17th, 2020, will be converted into an online virtual conference rescheduled for Wednesday, November 11th, 2020 with some significant changes. Our potential attendees, when polled, indicated they want help with teaching effective virtual STEM lessons, as well as, ongoing support regarding STEM education strategies. The virtual conference will offer both online streaming and recorded sessions - the latter for those who wish to attend the conference asynchronously. We seek presenters that are comfortable in the virtual setting and also have experience and expertise to share.  Two kinds of presentations will be offered: STEM, STEAM, STREAM in the Virtual Environment and Interactive Workshops. (Details below.)  Please submit proposals by the Monday, September 28th, 2020 deadline.

STEM, STEAM, STREAM, or "other " programs in the Virtual Learning Environment " (45 -  60 minutes - including 15 minutes allotted for Q&A)
These presentations should be STEM/ STEAM/ STREAM (and/or other) programs that have been modified, or enhanced,  to function in a virtual enviroment. It can be a new or existing project or program implemented in your district, school or classroom that now include a virtual component.  Perhaps STEM educators have teamed with other educators such as the the Language Arts, Technology or Art teacher in a joint project that utilizes Google docs or Google Hangout for student collaboration in making presentations, posters, or speeches in which the Language Arts or Art teacher has helped to create, assign, or evaluate?  Please identify how your STEM classroom project or lesson has been effectively expanded to include other disciplines and has met multiple learning objectives.  Submit a proposal that shows how you have created or modified an effective STEM/ STEAM/ STREAM project or program to work in a virtual environment.
Interactive Workshops (45 minutes - 1 hour including 15 minutes allotted for Q&A)
Interactive Workshops at the online virtual conference won't operate the same way that they do at a live conference. We are looking for very creative STEM, STEAM, STREAM proposals for an Interactive Workshop that either 1) simulates student collaboration and allows for some level of interaction among conference participants virtually or 2) demonstrates how a former non-virtual hands-on interactive program, lesson or project has been effectively converted into a virtual environment. Taking into consideration that having hands-on presentations are still a high priority for attendees, please submit proposals that fundamentally center on student collaboration and interaction and might still include team teaching with other disciplines and, of course, involve effective STEM pedagogies such as PBL, CBL, Phenomena, Makerspace, Coding, Robotics, EDP, and/or STEM+H.
