Important Information

ReFED is surveying solution providers to better estimate the effectiveness of food waste reduction solutions and the costs and benefits of implementing them. We are asking you to complete this survey to help ensure that solutions are accurately modeled and reflected in the next update of the Insights Engine.

By providing this information, you will help highlight your organization's food waste solution to the 2000+ weekly users of the Insights Engine, which include food businesses, investors, government representatives, and more. Reporting this data also enables ReFED to better support and connect you with investors and food businesses eager to collaborate, fundraise, and scale your impact.

If you are not currently part of ReFED's Solution Provider Directory, please complete a sign-up form before filling out this survey.

Before you get started, here are a few things to know:
  • This is a 2-part questionnaire
  • Part 1 includes questions about the effectiveness of your solution for applicable sectors.
  • Part 2 includes questions about the costs and benefits to stakeholders involved in implementing the solution(s) provided by your organization. We encourage you to complete as many of these questions to communicate the impact potential of your solution to prospective clients and investors.
  • All responses will be kept anonymous and confidential.

Please have the following information ready:

  • Organization EIN Number: This will be confidential and will be strictly for internal filing use only.
  • Solution Adoption Rate: The percentage of the entire industry that is currently utilizing the type of solution that your organization provides.
  • Solution Diversion Rates: The proportion of food waste your solution is capable of diverting from landfill or incineration, calculated for the applicable sector(s) and food type(s). To calculate this as a percentage: Divide the weight of diverted food waste by the weight of the total food waste prior to implementing your solution. Multiply the quotient by 100.
  • Total Annual Upfront Costs, Operating Costs, and Financial Benefits to Implementers (e.g. cost savings or added revenue after implementing the solution)
