Vision - Goals - Priorities for the Future of Transportation on O'ahu
O'ahu Regional Transportation Plan 2045
The O'ahu Regional Transportation Plan, or ORTP, demonstrates the long-range goals and projects for O'ahu over the next 20 years. Updated every 5 years, the ORTP: (1) assesses demographic trends; (2) forecasts future transportation demand; (3) estimates future transportation funding; (4) tracks progress on performance measures.
Our lives are touched by transportation every day. The transportation system is important for the well-being of our residents, visitors, and the economy. We use a variety of transportation options - walking, bicycling, riding the bus or train, driving, carpooling, etc. New options such as Uber/Lyft, bike share, scooters, and autonomous vehicles are developing faster today than in the past. The ORTP sets priorities for our entire transportation system so that it is safe, convenient, efficient, and resilient.
