NYSBC  Scholarship Application for IBCLE Exam in April 2020

We are pleased and proud to be able to provide scholarships to a limited number of eligible candidates for the IBCLC exam in April of 2020. The cost of taking the IBCLC exam may be a financial hardship for some candidates. The NYSBC is offering need-based scholarship money not to exceed $1000 per calendar year to IBCLC exam candidate(s) taking the exam for the first time, based on the scored application below. (NYSBC will not pay for a retake of the exam if you do not pass the first time).

NYSBC is aware of the disparities currently present in the lactation professional ranks in New York State, and would like to help improve the diversity of the profession in order to better serve the women in our communities.

Therefore, priority will be given to candidates of  the non-dominant population and candidates planning to work in underserved areas of New York State. Preference will also be given to candidates meeting more than one criteria. The scholarship award may be applied to purchase study materials, the exam application fee, transportation, meals or lodging directly related travel to the exam site. Candidates will have already completed the required education in order to qualify to sit for the exam. Please review the necessary requirements as posted at www.ibcle.org.

NYSBC is strongly committed to supporting the next generation of lactation educators, and to inclusion, diversity, and equity as core values, embracing meaningful participation from diverse stakeholders and actively soliciting varied viewpoints. We strongly encourage people of color, women, l/g/b/t/q+ individuals, and those with disabilities, to apply to further their lactation credential.
