Welcome

The New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife is conducting this short on-line survey to obtain angler feedback concerning wild trout fishing opportunities in New Jersey. In particular, the opinions of anglers who fish in designated Wild Trout Streams or target wild (not stocked) trout in other streams is sought.  Wild trout are fish that reproduce naturally in a stream and are not raised in a fish hatchery and stocked.  Some trout stocked waters have both stocked and wild trout present.  The information collected in conjunction with data collected during a two-year field sampling effort will be used to guide future management and regulation decisions.

Please have your Fishing License Number (CID#) handy before beginning the survey. Your CID# is the 9 digit number found on your license. This information, as well as your zip code, will only be used to assure that each angler responds only once. At no time will answers of specific individuals to specific questions be viewed.

The survey is designed so if you are uncertain of a question, or change your mind to a previous response you may return to a previous question using the buttons provided in the survey and modify your original response. Once a survey is completed, however, all answers are final. You will be unable to review your responses after you submit your survey.  At the end of the survey, you will have an opportunity to provide written comments.

PLEASE NOTE:
If you are a resident angler over the age of 70, and have previously purchased a license through the Division's automated license system you can use the CID number from the last license you purchased. If you no longer have that information or it has been more than 6 years since you have been required to purchase a license in New Jersey please call the Bureau of Freshwater Fisheries at (908) 236-2118 or e-mail the Bureau at NJFWFISH@dep.nj.gov to obtain a temporary CID # for the purposes of this survey. As life long anglers we are very interested in your input concerning wild trout fishing opportunities in New Jersey's .
