Carers and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a two day workshop for family members and friends (carers) who provide informal support to people with disability. As an organisation for carers in NSW, our priority is to help carers get the best outcomes possible from the NDIS for themselves and the people they care for.
This workshop aims to provide carers with a general introduction to the NDIS, help carers support the person they care for to access the NDIS, and prepare carers to communicate their own needs in relation to the NDIS. This workshop specifically focuses on building knowledge and skills to make informed choices when accessing the NDIS for both the participant and the carer.
Part 1 Carers and the NDIS: An Introduction
Part 2 Carers and the NDIS: Your role
Both days of the workshop will run from 10:00am to 1:30pm. Attendance on both days is required.
The workshop is free for all attendees. A light lunch will be provided.
Please note: To access the NDIS a person must be aged under 65 years. If the person you care for is aged 65 years or over they may be eligible for other types of support. Please phone the Carer Line on 1800 242 636 if you would like more information.
