The Government's pre-election platform called for a review of the native vegetation clearing regulations.

The principle clauses relating to the removal of native vegetation are Clause 52.16 - Native Vegetation Precinct Plans and Clause 52.17 - Native Vegetation.

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning has released a consultation paper seeking feedback on how the permit clearing regulations could be improved. The survey seeks your feedback on issues identified in the paper and proposed solutions.

The MAV will prepare a submission based of the results on this survey and a workshop discussion to be held on Thursday 7 April.

Please note that the structure and content of overlay controls and the Bushfire Protection Exemptions are outside of the scope of this review.
