Instructions for completing the survey
This survey consists of 15 statements that represent trends affecting health information management (HIM), health care, and professional associations.
As shown in the sample question below, for each trend statement you are first asked for your impression of its importance to you as a HIM professional. You will rate the importance along a five-point scale from “strongly agree” to “strongly disagree.”
You are then asked about the direction of this trend in terms of whether it will be more or less important and impactful in the coming years. A three-point scale is used to assess whether the trend is likely to increase or decrease in importance.

Associations that succeed will be those that help members be more successful in their careers.
This trend will impact CHIA and its professional members over the next 5 years.
