Introduction

In-Place is a project by &Access that explores the impacts of retail real estate conditions and neighborhood change on the sustainability of independent, minority-owned businesses, such as retailers, restaurants, and personal service businesses, occupying a brick-and-mortar/physical storefront.
Over the last three years, our team has helped design and launch funds, policies, real estate development projects, and programs supporting independent retailers across the country. To continue this work, we are studying critical variables on how retail and restaurant businesses are fairing following the pandemic, relating to changes in your business, property, neighborhood, city, and the global economy.  This critical data will inform the next generation of solutions for your business's success.

The goal is for your business to stay In-Place, long-term with the viable financial, real estate, policies, and programmatic tools to support your brick-and-mortar success.
