Homes for All coalition background: Where we live impacts every aspect of our lives. At every stage of life, where we live is the foundation for our health, education, safety, and economic well-being. In 2011, advocates from across Minnesota came together to create Homes for All, a statewide coalition working to advance shared policy initiatives at the state level that lead to housing stability for all Minnesotans. With significant successes at the state legislature, the coalition has grown to 250 endorsing organizations across the state representing non-profit organizations, social service providers, affordable housing developers, faith groups, government agencies, and more.

Homes for All is led by two co-chairs representing different aspects of the housing continuum from homelessness to affordable housing. Additionally, three working groups help support the work of the coalition: Policy, Communications, and Community Engagement. Lastly, Homes for All is currently putting together the nominations and recommendations for an Advisory Board, which will work closely with the Co-Chairs.
Co-chairs are voted on by the coalition’s endorsing membership and serve staggered three-year terms.

Your organization is eligible to help shape the future of the coalition by voting for the next co-chair to serve with Pastor Sue Koesterman. Each endorsing organization may vote once. Should you have any questions, please reach out to Pastor Sue: pastorsue@churches-united.org.

Currently, the responsibilities of the co-chairs include:
  • Oversee the work of the Coordinating Team and the overall progress of Homes for All
  • Be spokespeople who can represent Homes for All without a personal agenda
  • Serve as the main contacts for any internal conflicts that arise
  • Lead meetings (full meetings once a month, Coordinating Team meetings weekly)
  • Ensure members have access to the information they need
  • Work alongside the leadership of the H4A Advisory Board
