Gift Recipient Recommendation Form

Thank you for your interest in recommending someone to us as a potential "Fund the Change" gift recipient.

Here are a few important notes:

1. "Fund the Change" funds individuals only-- not groups, organizations, or projects.

2. You cannot recommend yourself. If you would like to be a "Fund the Change" gift recipient, find one of the many amazing activists in your field and ask one to recommend you. You can also ask a previous "Fund the Change" gift recipient to recommend you.

3. The individual(s) you recommend must be involved in activism/social justice work in the arts and culture sector. This includes, but may not be limited to: museums, zoos, aquariums, historic sites, libraries, visual arts, performing arts (e.g., music, theater, dance, spoken word), literary arts, and film.

4. In your recommendation, please tell us why you feel the individual should be funded. We have provided some questions below as prompts to inform your recommendation. This will help us get to know the individual and their efforts.

5. We ask for your name and email because we may have questions and want to follow up with you.

6. We ask that you recommend a maximum of 2-3 individuals. Please fill out this form separately for each individual.

7. Please note that if a person you recommend is selected to receive a gift they will be informed that you are the person who recommended them.

8. As you consider folks, please think about who you feel might benefit most. This might be because they are in a work environment that does not emotionally or financially support their activism, or perhaps because they are currently not in a paying position or job. It could be because their work inspires and amazes you with its innovation and creativity, or because you have seen them confront incredible oppression and hate.

9. Priority will be given to people of color/BIPOC individuals, LGBTIQ folks, people with disabilities, those with financial disadvantages, and womxn. As part of ExposeYourMuseum’s racial equity practices, no less than 75% of recipients will be people of color/BIPOC.
