Demographic Questions

Health is the cornerstone of a thriving community; reliable access to safe, affordable, healthy food is a critical component of community well-being. Planning professionals and healthy food advocates can partner on long-term planning and policy at local and regional levels, creating healthy food environments and a robust food infrastructure. These efforts can go a long way in reducing rates of obesity and diet-related diseases, which will decrease healthcare costs, increase worker productivity, and support vital, prosperous communities across our state. In 2016, the Minnesota Food Charter Food Access Planning Guide resource will be published, offering tools, resources, proven policy and systems change strategies, and sample language for comprehensive plans, so planners and healthy food advocates can design communities that promote health.

This survey will help inform the development of the Food Access Planning Guide, asking for the needs and priorities of planners and healthy food advocates, to ensure the Guide is useful and meaningful for intended audiences.

The Minnesota Food Charter Food Access Planning Guide will be released in the spring of 2016. Click through for more information about the Minnesota Food Charter and to reserve a copy of the Food Access Planning Guide.
