SIU Carbondale Extern Program - Sponsor Application
Thank you for your interest in the SIU Carbondale Extern Program!
Established in 1984, the Extern Program provides students with professional experience in their chosen career fields. Each year, SIU students are matched with SIU alumni and complete externships throughout the U.S. They apply skills learned in the classroom in a professional work environment. The program is individualized and enhances the student's education.
This is an unpaid and not-for-credit experience for students. However, sponsors are welcome to provide financial assistance to help students for costs they may incur.
The 2023 Extern Program takes place between March 11 - 19, 2023. Externships are typically one workweek, but exact dates and times can be determined by sponsor and student.
