The State of Oregon is proposing a limit of 40 hours per week for hourly homecare workers. Many homecare consumers need more than 40 hours per week of services. If our primary provider’s hours are limited to 40, we will have to find and train a new provider. There is a serious shortage of trained homecare providers in Oregon. If we can’t find providers to meet our support needs in our homes, we will either go without needed services or be forced into unwanted institutionalization and loss of connection with our community.
