This survey seeks your voluntary feedback on the Aotearoa New Zealand Principal Eligibility Criteria (ANZPEC) guidance in their current state, as released on 31 August 2023 under a ‘soft launch’.

These eligibility criteria have been developed by the sector and apply to people applying to be principals/tumuaki of state and state-integrated schools and kura in Aotearoa New Zealand.

A reminder that these criteria are currently under a ‘soft launch’ for Boards and the sector to familiarize themselves with them and are not yet a legal requirement to use. Once the Minister has formally issued the criteria, they will become a legal requirement to use. The timing for this is still to be confirmed, but once confirmed will be clearly signposted.
