ACS Insurance Standards Exemption Application Form Background & PurposeThe Australian Computer Society (ACS) operates a national Professional Standards Scheme (PSS) under the professional standards legislation in all Australian states and territories. All ACS Certified Professional (CP) members must participate in the ACS PSS, unless an exemption applies. Furthermore, ACS CP members must be covered by a professional indemnity (PI) insurance arrangement that complies with the ACS' Insurance Standards. You can use this form to submit an application for exemption (Insurance Standards Exemption) if your PI insurance policy does not comply with one or more requirements of the ACS Insurance Standards. Note: some ACS Insurance Standards requirements are absolute requirements that ACS does not have the power to exempt. The ACS has the absolute discretion to grant, decline or revoke an Insurance Standards Exemption. Where ACS grants an Insurance Standards Exemption in relation to a PI insurance policy, that particular PI insurance policy does not need to comply with one of more of the requirement(s) of the ACS Insurance Standards until the expiry date specified by ACS. Note: For clarity, an Insurance Standards Exemption does not exempt a CP member from participation in ACS PSS. For this, please either complete the PSS Annual Compliance Declaration (sent to you as part of your annual certification rollover) or ACS PSS Exemption Application Form (if your work circumstances change during a certification year). For more information on: ACS PSS Professional Standards Councils (PSC) Website ACS Insurance Standards Next
