Application for Student Honorary Board Members |
Women Grocers of America (WGA) is a professional network designed for women working in the grocery industry. Its mission is to inspire and empower women of the independent grocery industry through professional and personal development, cultivating connections, and highlighting accomplishments.
It operates several initiatives to achieve this mission including a virtual Sync Up event and in-person Symposium. It also offers recognition opportunities including the Woman of the Year Award, scholarships for the Executive Leadership Development Program and scholarships for college students.
WGA's Board of Directors works to oversee these initiatives consisting of 5-15 members with professional experience spanning the grocery industry. Plus the positions of Chair, Vice Chair, and Immediate Past Chair.
WGA is currently looking for female university students to serve as student honorary board members. Students will serve a one-year term with the option to continue for a second. Sophomores and Juniors are preferred for application.
Selected students will serve as non-voting board members but will assist the board in several ways while gaining professional experience, industry insight, and leadership opportunities.
