CAFN Youth Leadership Academy |
Champagne and Aishihik First Nation Youth Leadership Academy Program
CAFN is developing a new Youth Leadership Academy program for youth aged 18-29. The program is designed to create well-rounded young leaders by teaching students about personal wellness; their connection to their culture, the land and community; and to deepen their understanding of First Nations governance. The program will be offered in Haines Junction and will run fulltime (Monday through Friday) for 8 weeks during the summer of 2025. Students will be paid a training allowance for their participation and will be expected to commit to the full program. There are no prerequisites to apply, and all youth will be supported to complete the program.
The purpose of this survey is to identify interest in the program from potential students; to identify speakers, knowledge-keepers, and Elders who are interested in sharing their wisdom and guidance during the program; and to gain insights and ideas from the community to see what Citizens would like to see in a CAFN youth leadership program. Your perspective is a valuable part of developing a program that meets the needs of your community, so thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and complete this survey!
