Road Map Project region (South Seattle and South King County) community-based organizations, non-profits, and public sector partners: apply for funds to implement college and career related activities for children and youth on DiscoverU’s Lead Your Community Day on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019!
About DiscoverU and the Mini Grant
DiscoverU
is an exciting week for us to come together and support students in exploring career and college options. Each day of DiscoverU week has a theme. On Tuesday, Oct. 15, it is Lead Your Community Day, where we encourage community partners to coordinate college and career related activities for youth. Nonprofit and public sector jobs can be rewarding career paths, but our students don’t often have the opportunity to learn about them. Through engaging activities, we hope that our partners will introduce K-12 youth to community-oriented work or connect them to leadership opportunities in their neighborhoods and outside of the classroom. The Community Center for Education Results is awarding $4,000 in mini grants to better support our community-based organizations, nonprofits, and public sector partners with these efforts.
