It is expected that schools will support their students undertaking study at VSV by assigning a member of staff to act as a School Supervisor. The Department of Education and Training provide 0.1 FTE to the student’s time fraction at their mainstream school, in recognition of the support provided to the student’s VSV studies.

Future supervisors should review the Nominated School Supervisor  Requirements document to familiarise themselves with the role. We will hold an information session at the beginning of the school year to provide information and support around the subject requirements.

We will provide much of the course content using online applications, however, as VCE Drama is a practical subject there are scheduled VSV in-person workshops (3-4 per Semester). However, if students are located 2 hours or more from Melbourne they are not expected to attend.

All student require the following support:
  • Ensuring there is a private ‘space’ in the home school where the student can participate in online lessons and rehearsals.
  • Facilitating communication with teachers.
  • Ensuring that regular rehearsal times are available in the designated school ‘space’.
  • Ensuring students are aware of the in-person workshops/excursions being held and support them to make arrangements to attend.
Unit 1 & 2 solo/ensemble groupings

In Semester 1 all students will work on devising and performing a solo work.

In Semester 2 metropolitan students will be working in ensemble groups.  Regional students will be devising another solo work.

If regional students are able to attend the in-person workshop days, they too can work in an ensemble.
