Tell City Clearance Project

The City of Tell City is seeking funding to clear the site of the former Perry County Memorial Hospital at 1 Hospital Road in Tell City. The building and surrounding property have been under private ownership since 2017. During this time, the property has been partially gutted and, as a result, deteriorated greatly. Broken glass, electrical components, and a variety of debris litter the ground inside and out of the building. The property has also invited vandalism and mischief. In May of 2022, a fire was reported inside the building adding to the hazardous conditions. The building as it stands presents a health and safety hazard.
The City is partnering with Ramtell Inc. on an application to the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs for a State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Blight Clearance Program grant. The total amount of CDBG funds to be requested is estimated to be $500,000. This requires an estimated local match of $56,000 that will be provided by Ramtell Inc.
