Thank you for applying to become a peer support volunteer! This application form will take about 15 - 30 minutes to complete; feel free to save partway through and come back to it later. Please make sure that you have read the position description on our website before completing this application. No previous experience is necessary to become a peer support volunteer!

Peer support volunteers must:
  • Be between the ages of 16-29;
  • Identify as: lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, Two Spirit, genderqueer, queer, asexual, questioning, and or/ another identity that falls within the queer and/or trans spectrum;
  • Be able to travel to downtown Toronto to volunteer on a weekly basis;
  • Commit to volunteering 3 hours per week and attending a monthly volunteer meeting.

Application deadline: End of Wednesday, August 28, 2019. Volunteer applicants will be notified about the status of their application by Friday, August 30th, 2019Interviews will take place during the week of September 3 - 6, 2019.

If selected to train for the Peer Support Volunteer program, individuals must complete a mandatory 10-week training process, running from September 17 - November 19, 2019.

The LGBT YouthLine office is wheelchair-accessible and strives to be a scent-free environment. We provide TTC tokens and food for volunteers at all training sessions and shifts.
