This informative workshop will cover the following areas:
Overview of Patent & Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) libraries.
Introduction to free web-based USPTO & Espacenet patent searching databases.
Competitive analysis examples utilizing free USPTO or Espacenet databases.
Speaker Bio: John Schlipp is an Intellectual Property Librarian at NKU. He manages the IPAC (Intellectual Property Awareness Center) http://ipac.nku.edu/ at Steely Library. The IPAC assists both campus and community constituents to acquire knowledge about intellectual property to cultivate their research, creativity, and innovation. John also teaches LIN 405 Intellectual Property & Information Rights for the NKU Bachelor’s Degree in Library Informatics. Previously John served as the Patent & Trademark Librarian at the Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County, and before that, as the manager of the document delivery department of the Procter & Gamble Research Library in Mason, Ohio.

The conference facility is located in Rookwood Tower (7 story bldg.) near Rookwood Commons in Norwood. The Rookwood Tower is located on the corner of Edwards and Edmonson Roads in Norwood, Ohio. The sign on top of the building says Northwestern Mutual.
The Rookwood Tower Garage has four levels of parking connected to Rookwood Tower. The entrance to the garage (P2) is located off of Edmondson Road (Also known as Smith Rd. See directions above). You can also enter the garage from Arbor Place (Lobby entrance), one of the streets within Rookwood Commons behind Starbucks and Rusty Bucket.
Take the elevator from the parking garage to the 5th floor of Rookwood Tower. Interact for Health is located in Suite 500.
