The SMDM is delighted to have secured funding for a limited number of scholarship packages for those residing in Low-Middle Income Countries (LMICs) as identified by the World Bank and trainees defined as undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students in clinical or non-clinical settings, and post-doctoral students, residents and fellows who are in academic settings. Faculty and full-time research employees do not qualify as trainees.

The scholarships provide full registration for the SMDM 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting and for membership in the SMDM through December of 2022. The membership package includes online-only access to the SMDM Journal.

SMDM is committed to inclusivity and supporting a diverse community. It values the diversity of racial and cultural identity and background, nationality, sexual and affectional orientation, gender identity and its expression, religious background and belief, age, mental and physical health and ability and other diverse identities and their intersections. Preference will be given to assist those traditionally underrepresented in science and to those who have no alternative funding to support their participation.

Please note that trainees must also complete and submit the Trainee Verification Form to complete their application. Applications must be complete and submitted by September 27, 2021 to be considered.
