1. Centropa Summer Academy Application for Educators from Europe, South Africa and Israel

We are pleased to announce Centropa’s 11th Summer Academy (CSA 2017), 4-12 July in Budapest and Belgrade. From the pool of applicants, we will invite up to 40 Europeans, 30 Americans, and 5 South African and Israeli educators. Costs for European, South African and Israeli participants will be covered by Centropa.

If you have used Centropa in your class, please make sure you have sent us your lesson. If you are new to Centropa, we ask you to browse our website, watch at least two Centropa films, and tell us how you plan to use our resources.

Note: It's possible your browser will time out if you leave the window open with no activity; you would lose any unsaved information. Please save your answers in Word as you go in case your application does not save properly. Hit the "DONE" button at the end of the survey in order to submit your application.

Basic information regarding the CSA:

* We begin in Budapest on 4 July around 12:30. The program ends the evening of 11 July in Budapest, and participants depart on 12 July.
*For your convenience, we have uploaded the preliminary program under http://csa2017.centropa.org/program . Please note, however, that this program is still subject to changes, as we are currently still working on finalizing the program.

* Centropa will cover program-related meals and accommodation your transportation costs to the CSA, but not to the airport near your hometown, and no taxis. For free evenings during the CSA, Centropa cannot cover meals.
If you have been accepted as participant, we will ask you to look for the least expensive bus / train / airplane tickets from your hometown to Budapest and from Belgrade to your hometown. For flights, you will need to use the multi-destination option to get the best deals on internet travel sites such as Expedia. If you have not done this before, we recommend you use Expedia.

* Should you wish to arrive early or stay longer, please make these arrangements yourself - we are a small team and have our hands full with the CSA preparations. For contact information for hotels, go to csa2017centropa.org.

* Requirements: a pre-trip assignment, described in the registration form we will send to those accepted; readings (articles, and one book).

* Kosher meals. We will be happy to provide kosher meals for those who require it. Due to the higher cost of kosher food and the staff time needed to make sure it is delivered, etc, the kosher food surcharge will be approximately €20 per day (these were the costs on previous Summer Academies).
