This is the time of year that we honor our outstanding PTSA Volunteers & Educators!

Do you know a volunteer who goes “above and beyond” for our kids at PCMS? Each year the PCMS PTSA presents the following awards to honor the dedication and service of our volunteers: the Golden Acorn Award and the Outstanding Advocate Award.

The Golden Acorn Award. The PCMS PTSA honors volunteer service and dedication to youth by awarding the Golden Acorn Award annually. This award recognizes PTSA members who volunteer in ways that meet the mission of PTA: promoting the health, welfare, safety and education of ALL youth in our school and community.

The Outstanding Advocate Award. Every year the PCMS PTSA honors outstanding volunteer advocacy for youth by awarding the Outstanding Advocate Award. This award recognizes PTSA members for their advocacy and commitment in helping create strong policies relating to the health, welfare, safety and education of our youth.

The Outstanding Educator Award was created by the PTA to recognize individuals who have gone beyond the normal expectations of their job to make outstanding contributions to enhance the education of children. An Outstanding Educator can be a teacher, specialist, assistant, support staff, custodian, bus driver, administrator or community member. Although not required, we do encourage all nominees be current PTA members.

Deadline for submissions is Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at midnight. Fill out the form at the PTSA Awards online link. If you have questions or would like a paper form, e-mail the Awards Chair, Heidi Kirchoff (heidikirchoff@hotmail.com). Nominations will be kept confidential.
