About the Transit Master Plan

Douglas County is currently developing the county’s first Transit Master Plan (TMP) since the implementation of transit service. The TMP will serve as a roadmap for improving public transit in the county and provide a forum for public and stakeholder input. Douglas County will ultimately identify short-, mid-, and long-range needs, improvements, and investments for Connect Douglas.

Transit services in Douglas County are provided via Connect Douglas (formally known as Douglas County Rideshare). Connect Douglas is a mobility-oriented service, operated by the Douglas County Department of Transportation, that operates transportation services, builds and maintains commuter facilities, and actively engages in transit planning and marketing. Connect Douglas is the public transportation and mobility services provider in Douglas County, offering fixed route bus service, complementary ADA Paratransit for eligible passengers, commuter work-trip vanpools, transportation voucher assistance for elderly and disabled citizens, and Xpress bus serves to and from the Atlanta Region.
